As far as I know, the buttons and the dashboard are separate of each other - you need specific drivers for the buttons.

And for me, all of the dashboard works for me after the installation I mentioned.

After the first time I installed the Dashboard, the rotate worked but I can't get the Dashboard running to set the buttons or turn on the bluetooth

When I install the XP M1400 Dashboard, there is no Dashboard icon. I install in XP SP3 compatibility mode and run the install program as an administrator

I install the Vista LE1600 Dashboard as Vista SP2 and run the install program as an administrator. The MOtion Dashboard icon is there, but I get the mciTools error and when I run the Dashboard, teh program tells me the software only works on t he LE and C5.

Any thoughts?

Hi everybody,

I have an update, last time I posted I heard needed to reinstall Windows 7. Finally I did, redo the steps and no dice. After 2 days in my dispair I went to this site: www(dot)groundstate(dot)net/855GMWin7.html and downloded some drivers. They worked!!
Finally got all functionality, rotation, all buttons worked with the 1700 buttons update.
Anyway, yesterday after one day of happiness at start up the screen flickered, like changing resolutions, and went dark with high contrast. After I while, I restarted in safe mode. Reinstalled Magus' drivers and now it works fine, but lost all rotation, etc.
Ovbiouslly the divers are bad, but my M1400 doesn't take Magus drivers, but the old other ones work. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Hello everyone!

I just found this thread; lots of great information here. I've managed to get Windows 7 up and running on my 1400; rotation and dashboard. Unfortunately, during the 1st windows update I performed, I opted to get the Motion tablet PC upgrade thinking this would be a good thing. When my system finished re-booting, the dreaded Motion Unitool message came up. I've still got rotation, but I cannot get the dashboard to come up. As such, I think I've lost bluetooth connectivity as well. Any ideas how to undo the Motion update?

I uninstalled the dashboard, and re-installed it thinking this would help. Now I get a big box that tells me that this Motion software doesn't work with my current operating system. Any help woiuld be greatly appreciated...

Okay,

I got it fixed. I installed Win 7 version of dashboard for LE1700. Dashboard is obviously different from the M1400 version, but all functionality is there. Bluetooth works again and everything!! I'm one happer camper today...

A word of caution. I tried the LE1700 dashboard and it completely hosed the Intl graphics. May want to do a backup before trying this. I swithced over to wireless N and no longer have BT, so I am really not missing the dashboard.

There is one thing I was hoping to get working though. Has anyone gotten the Intellisonic software to run? I don't see much mention of it.

Also, I have tried the alternate fingerprint software, but much preferred omnipass. Has anyone tried other alternatives besides the recommend (was it asus) replacement earlier in the thread?

Default Almost there, but photoshop cs4 tablet mapping screwed up.

Hi All,

I am new to my m1400 and the this immensely useful forum. I took the plunge of
installing windows 7. Thought I'd shared some findings and issues I encountered
along the way.

Magnus' post and drivers were really helpful. Using Windows 7 Ultimate really
helped. Tried Windows 7 Enterprose, but couldn't get the display drivers to
properly install without the yellow triangle (hence no rotation).

Follow Magnus' steps carefully. I find it helpful to put the video drivers
folder and the bcdedit commands (in a batch file) on my USB key. After running
the bcdedit comands, I ran msconfig first, uninstall video controller, then
uninstall standard VGA adapter coz the last step prompts for reboot which I can
gladly do.

Couldn't get hibernate/sleep to work for the longest time. But when I installed
the intel wireless driver from motion computing (LE1600-WLANIntelv1009039),
sleep/hibernate magically appeared! (I believe I unzipped the bundle, configure
the setup.exe to run as administrator and in XP SP2 compatibility mode)

I thought I got over my last showstopper. But when I installed photoshop CS4, I
found that the brushes are _not_ pressure sensitive (they are fine for
sketchbook pro however). Some other poster mentioned about this too, but said
he had to adjust the pen feel from firm to soft. I didn't see this in my
tablet-related settings in my control panel, figure I needed to install the
wacom drivers. So I downloaded and installed 5.05.7, got a new control panel to
adjust pen firmness among other things. This time photoshop cs4 starts up, and
whenever the app is in focus, my tablet area seems to be mapped to a tiny
fraction of the screen (top left) and in reverse!. (hard to explain, but
imaging being able to struggle to access the file, edit menus, but not being
able to reach the lower portions of the file menu and not being able to right
the window close button on the top right no matter where you place the pen).
Re-calibration didn't help. Each time I switch away from photoshop, the correct
tablet input area to screen area mapping returns. Was it ill-advised to install
the wacom drivers? Is anyone able to get photoshop with pressure-sensitivity
running on windows 7 on m1400?

Thanks
-Vic

Default Anyone have an update on Windows 7 Video driver problem?

Just wondering if anyone had figured out a straightforward way of getting rotation enabled on the m1400. This is severely cramping my style for note taking.

Default driver pack

Hello

I recently bought an m1400 and found this thread. After some trial and error I finally got Win7 going on the m1400. Here is a link to a driver pack I threw together from all the helpful posts here: megaupload(dot)com/?d=XLORRWN2

It contains
- wireless nic driver
- video driver with instructions on how to install + rotation registry fix
- audio driver
- modem driver
- win7 update for fingerprint sensor
- button driver

After installing everything in this order my tablet functions as it did in xp, with the exception of when i hit the dashboard button it brings up the Windows Mobility Center instead of the Motion Dashboard

Cheers!
