I am sadly at like 24% ... and i been treating it horribly the last 4 months (constantly keeping it almost fully charged )
I have owned my tablet since september. I got the wear number from notebook hardware control's latest release.
after 6 months of use of my x41t my 8 cell battery downs to 64.80 to 60.50Wh this is a wear of 6 % (1 % per month)and it is a 18 minutes degradation, it is not much battery life loose, but there are a way to reaconditionate my battery to gain some Wh more? i put the start charging the battery when it goes lower than 80% ans stop charging at 95% two months ago but i loose 2 wh, now i put start charging at 50% and stop at 80% i only have 25 cicles or i need to get the battery warranty?
thanks for your posts

After 8 months, my 8-cell battery is 50.47Wh full charge, although I've probably put 2000 hours of use on it at least and maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of that was on battery.
The cycle count on my battery is 64. Full charge capacity is 65.01(I don't know what it was brand new, but I guess I'll keep track now), above the design capacity of 64.80. So, I've been amazed by the quality of the battery so far.
Suprising since I haven't treated it the best, most every time I've drained the battery till it was completely dead or close to it. However, I don't keep my tablet plugged in very much and I have the optimize for battery lifespan checked under battery maintanace. That might be something.
Maybe a reset will help you, but I'm not sure when you're suppose to do it. I just have the power manager set to tell me when it should be done.
Had the same problems as above. Did a manual battery reset and got my full powerback.
(Even a little more than standard)
It seems more a calibration thing than real battery wear.
How do you reset the battery?
I think u drain it till dead then charge it back up again fully. Not sure exactly.
If you have the thinkpad power manager installed, double click on the green battery icon on your taskbar > click on the battery information tab > click on battery maintenece button > and click on perform reset.
Last time I checked my battery was at 62, with 39 cycle counts and have been using it for 2-3 months.
I've asked a question about battery maintence before, and I've heard all kinds of methods. But from my experience with laptop batteries (I've owned more than 4 laptops), the best way to maintain its life is by charging it ONLY when its down to 10~30%, and remove the battery as soon as its fully charged.
Also, I always keep the battery disconnected to the laptop when i'm plugged into the a/c. I've been told by a forum poster here that heat speeds up the deterioration of the battery. Therefore I usually charge my battery when my laptop is turned off.
Hi T0ni
I can't find the perform reset buttom, what version of the power manager do you have?
thanks
Hey Gustavius,
My power manager application version is 1.12. I've just recently reformatted my IBM x41t and updated all the software using the installer.
Even if you don't use the power manager, performing a reset basically means charging it up to 100% and draining the battery all the way down to 0.
you can go to http://www.batteryuniversity.com for more information.
hope this helps!
