I just got my tablet and wanted to reformat the hard disk so I will setup 8 gigsfor the operating System and 32 gigs for everything else.

?? how do I do this? Do I use the recovery disks that are provided, or where do I yet the windows tablet XP version to install?

I guess what I am saying is I want to Start from scratch and need some direction. Any help would be greatly appreCiated, or any/guidance to obtain info on how to do so.

If all you want to do is split the o/s from an area for data it would probably be a lot less hassle to get Partition Magic or similar product.

This allows you to repartition the hard drive without having to reformat and reload everything.

my personal experience with recovery disks is very bad. Create some windows xp tablet edition installation CDs as per instructions in an earlier post (search this forum) and install from those. It is much more effective. If you would like to have a small partition to store an image file, use partition magic as advised by others.

So can you change the partitioning proportions used in the original setup from Acer? can you get rid of that 1G partition that isn't assigned a drive letter that is used for ?what? some form of recovery i assume?

Make sure you do your research before wiping the c:\ drive. I spent days looking through all the posts for answers. Be sure to copy the Oembios files (.sig,.bin,.dat and .cat).
