Even though I took the utmost care when using my M1300, I too joined the dead strip club. It was working fine in the afternoon, then in the evening an area, 1 inch wide, was not recognized by my pen. Now I'll have to go possibly 2 days of school without my tablet [cry]

I've had the same problem with my M1200 several times, and it always seems to go away (sometimes immediately, sometimes after a couple of days). Here's a quick but simple workaround: rotate your screen so the dead strip is in a part of the screen that you don't use as much. Even though you may have to rotate it periodically when you change programs, it's still preferable to not having your Tablet at all!

Yep, I FedExed it overnight in hopes of getting it back sooner. But for the upcoming week, I will have to use the old fashioned legal pads. I think I've been spoiled by the Tablet.
