Hello and good day,
A friend of mine is suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome (or something of the sort) - preventing her from using a keyboard almost altogether. She is a scholar, and writes all of her research on a computer - she mostly uses Word and E-Mail, not much else. She tried using DragonSpeak voice recognition to elevate the need for typing, but while it worked okay, the problems have now spread to her neck, and she can't use a microphone very well either.
I was considering suggesting to her to move to a Tablet PC - since she can still write using a pen without a problem - but wanted your opinion first. Do you think this is a proper solution, or an overkill? Is it better than simply getting a stylus-device (AceCat and the like) for her computer? Are the software and hardware benefits worth it? Is the operating system standard, allowing her to keep using her regular software? Can she use it for intensive writing?
I would very much appreciate your advice, as I am quite new to the subject and she is in dire need of some kind of solution.
