Default Hello, Does anyone here knows how to import i

    Hello,

Does anyone here knows how to import ink from one to the other or vice versa? I have a bunch of notes in journal, and I am eager to organize them in onenote, but copy and paste does work and only produce a "image file" of the ink, not the actual ink itself. Any help will be appreicated.

I am just finding out that OneNote aint so hot as its $100 price tag suggests. You can't import Word docs either. (Journal can) I had visions of moving all my school notes from Journal to OneNote after I discovered it came with my Tablet. I might sound too sour on the program, but after messing around with OneNote I think it is akin to writing ransom notes by cut-and-pasting from newspapers and magazines. I use that analogy because I don't like all the objects it creates - looks like a patchwork quilt. I really like the simplicity and versatility that Journal offers. The only cool thing about OneNote is the integrated recording, but it isn't worth wading through the ungainly UI to get it. I figure I can open Windows sound recorder and recorde lectures and dictation that way. I'll probably get around to writing a more thorough comparison later this week, but there's my initial $0.02.

Don't write One Note off too quickly. Play with the options/config settings first. most of the "patchwork" you refer to can be customized and made as transparant as you like. As you enter notes in these "blocks", you can then move them to toher pages, or just move them around the page to better organize your notes. Once you looked at the config settings, it might actually better suit your needs. Who knows. I just happen to be a HUGE One Note fan. :D

My initial $0.02 was almost word for word the exact same as you $0.02! Give it a chance. I love ON for it's organiztion with tabs/folders/sub-folders, & the embedded audio recording. I keep ALL of my notes for all of my accounts in one file (O-N-E-N-O-T-E). I used to be a Journal addict as well. I even went back to Journal after trying O.N. for 1 week, then I ended up going back to O.N. after giving it a more thorough trial. I'm STILL fiddling with the layout and organization of how my Notes are presented/accessed. True, there is a sort of beauty to the simplistic input/reading ability of Journal.

Thanks for all the input and info everyone. For now now I believe I will stick with journal. Onenote has some very innovating idea, but as an engineering student journal seems to offer more. The lasso tool in journal provide unmatched flexibility--scaling on the fly, select a specific object amount a close group of ink. In onenote, there is no "fine" tip, no autoshape. hopefully the onenote team can look into those features.
