Thanks for the info Rob, it is an interesting article. I did some quick looking on their web-site and found the same articles and reviews here -

I just received my Feb 3 issue of PC Magazine. It has a good round up of Tablet PC's in their First Looks sections. They also picked the Toshiba Portege M205 as their Editors Choice.
They had an interesting comment, which I really agree with: "The M205 is our favorite for users who want a notebook computer with tablet abilities. If you primarily want a slate device, with the ability to switch to a notebook, then the HP TC1100 is top dog."
If you get PC Magazine, I'd encourage you read it. I'll bet they will post the article on their website when the issue is officially on newsstands.

I find it interesting that their analysis and top two choices (HP TC1100 and the Toshbia M205), matched pretty closely with the poll you did about the best OEM tablet's.
BTW: when are the tabletpc awards being announced?

Given the number of people that are having the issue described here:

I'ts interesting that PC Magazine didn't see that as well on the TC1100.
I like my TC1000, but the 10.4" screen size is getting to me. I don't think the improvements to the TC1100 will be enough for me to switch.

It would be more interesting to compare the choice to ad purchases by the parent companies of those two models v. the ad space purchased by the other vendors in the TPC market.
Resident Skeptic.

I would have to agree- interesting that those that can be purchased at you local Best Buy or Circuit City are considered the best.
