I looked over at the HP web site and found the TC1000 still available, and you can still purchase refurbished units from the refurb store at HP as well.
So I had a friend order a new TC1000 from HP in Dec. and he gets back a reply that the TC1000 has been discontinued and is being replaced. I thought is might be the TC1100 but HP told him no it was something else coming out at the end of Jan.
Any clues as to what this new tablet might be?

I think that After5 was saying was: His friend ordered a TC1000 from HP's website (which is still there as an option to purchase), and then, after the fact, received an email saying he could not purchase.quote:Originally posted by swcruz

Just because the link to purchase is still there doesn't necessarily refute his story.

good thing i waitied before upgrading :P
Any chance of a Dothan-based Centrino (TC1200?!?) so soon after the release of the 1100? Or might this be a reference (if there's any truth to it whatsoever) to the convertible-based tablet HP is supposed to be coming out with this year?
Still waiting for my TC1100, but wouldn't hurt if it was a Dothan.
Bryhawks,
What is Dothan? Sounds like it hurts!

or could it be the efficon from transmeta that was vaporize a long time ago?
In Short, Dothan is Intel's new mobile processor with 2MB cache memory ( Centrino has 1MB and Pentium IV and celeron M with 512kb). Having a higher cache makes processor faster than with a smaller cache.
Harv,
Thanks for the link to Darthon.
