If you experience this problem, update your router's firmware... this didn't even occur to me. I stayed up until 5:00 AM trying to fix this and it was something so simple.... sigh.
I don't understand this.
I have a wireless network in my house. 2 other devices are connected to it fine. This tablet, however, doesn't seem to do anything at all when trying to connect. The wireless worked when I first took the PC out of the box, but now it doesn't work at all. It's absolutely ridicuous, I can't think of why it's not working. WEP is set up correctly, I've tried using the Intel PROSet program...
Basically, when trying to connect to a network wirelessly - it sees the ID of the network. But when I try to connect to it, there is no result. I don't even get a signal. To add insult to injury, I'm less than a foot from my router and I still get no signal. I have no idea what to do. Ugh.
Any ideas?

Glad your up an running. What probably fixed your situation was a "reset," of your router that occured with the update of the firmware. Routers have reset buttons for a good reason and they are often hidden to preclude an accidental reset ;)
In Network Connections (from the control panel) try removing your wireless network connection from the network bridge. I struggled for a day and a half trying to connect to my home network, playing with every setting I could think of and resetting my wireless router, all to no avail. I experimented with removing the wireless network connection from the network bridge and I connected immediately.
Good Luck!

I didn't reset the router because I refused to cede... there were two other devices connected at the exact moment I was trying to connect my laptop. But regardless, it's working now. Thanks for the support guys.
Reset is a viable option. My 4 kids are on wifi computers and needless to say, they are ALWAYS on, and sometimes a reset is a necessity, and works to cure a single errant workstation. Besides, with 4 kids online and I reset the router........quote:Originally posted by Meowfaceman
