I've got the standard external CDROM that came with the C102Ti, but I don't have an AC adapter for the CDROM. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter that's 5V---1500mA? Or is there any other way to run it? Acer doesn't sell the CDROM adapter separately. Thanks!

    John,

Have you tried RadioShack (assuming you are in the US or Canada)

Radio Shack has adapters that power up to 1000mA. The CDROM says it takes 1500mA. Do you think the Radio Shack is powerful enough to run it? Thanks.

    John,

Sorry, but I doubt it. Rather ... it might work, but then again the results may be disappointing (shiny coasters).

If you look closely at the CDROM - can you see anything that identifies the OEM manufacturer. (You may have to open the case to see). If you find one, you could do a search on that manufacturer's website, or even a search for the Acer part number - just generally in google.com to see what turns up.

I use the USB port to power my CDRW/DVD, this is much better then having to carry another power supply around.

    Question for cholcomb:

Can you give me some more info about how you made the usb-cdrw/dvd connection. I want to use my cdrw/dvd in my car, but don't want to use a dc-adapter. Also I don't want to have to carry 2 adapters with me.
Perhaps you can include a drawing?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike.
