    Hi guys !

I bought an X-Eye USB web cam, from ECS (Elitegroup Computer Systems Co. Ltd / www.ecsusa.com )

It“s a nice, very small web cam (picture below). It comes with a CD, containing the driver needed. I tryed to install it in a notebook loaded with the "regular" Windows XP and it works fine.
But when I try to install it in the Tablet PC, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition crashes and I get the infamous "blue screen" (or it was black ?)

Any idea on why both windows behave in a different way ?
    Any suggestions or ideas ?
Does anybody knows about a "generic" driver for USB webcams I could try?

    Thanks !

My first question would be, do you have the tc1000 or the tc1100? If you have the TC1000, get the code morphing software update. There have been previous issues with the usb port and dock that were solved by updating this software.

    Good luck

    Hi Nathanr !
I have the TC1000, with the latest code morphing software (downloaded it from HP site)...
I use other USB devices with no problem at all...

Hmmm, The only other thing I could think of would be an issue with the backward compatibility of the usb ports, does the tc1000 have usb 2.0?

After several hours browsing the net, I found another vendor that delivers a similar web cam... I downloaded their driver, and, voila ! it works !

Thanks Nathanr for your support !
