I bought the Storix USB 2.0 Mobile drive..and have it working nicely attached to my Vison tablet thru the USB port only, not requiring external power.

I haven't tried the CDRW feature yet..and the DVD works nicely.

It comes with Power DVD software.

I like windows media player better. Powere DVD has some wierd background noise. Do you have software for downloading DVD's from the disc to the hard drive?

Odd - I never noticed any background noice from PowerDVD (although I usually use the windows media player too).

    Try DVD Decrypter: http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

What do you guys think of the storix usb 2.0 dvd/cd-rw drive?? Im thinking about getting a used/Refurb one from their website. It only costs $60-$80 so its a pretty cheap price.

Problem is the warranty for it only lasts 5 days or so.

One more thing I wanted to question was the size. It is advertised as ultra-mobile. Is it really??

I've had my STORIX for over 1 year now and it's still going stong. I caary it with me every day and burn CDs, rip CDs and DVDs, and have restored my system (TC-1000) all without external power (USB 2.0 powered only). It's a very solid piece of machinery.

The Storix US 2.0 is a great little drive. Unlike some others on the market, it is very lightweight and is reliable. The only thing I don't like is that it is not bootable with my 3500 ... but you can cure that with a USB floppy. I recommend it.[8D]
