I need to reinstall my Tablet XP OS how do I do that without reformatting my hard drive with the disks supplied by Toshiba.

There may be another solution.
What part of using the recovery CDs from Toshiba is problematic?
1 - the reformatting
2 - losing existing data
3 - having to reinstall applications
Just asking because if you reinstall the o/s you will likely sitll have issues 2 and 3.

A couple of problems.
1: When using Start> Turn Off> Restart, the computer turns off and does not restart. I have to push the power button to turn the computer back on.
2: I am unable to install/use Norton System Works 2004 because I consistently get an error message that Drive C (hard drive)is not available or that other programs have exclusive rights to Hard Drive C. I have tried multiple fixes from Norton, and now it is recommended that I reinstall the OS . The suspician is that something is corrupt in my OS.

Daniel,
I recall reading somewhere that Norton System Works and Tablets had some incompatibilities. I wish I could remember where. I am sure that this was referring to pre 2004 versions. The reason this sticks with me is that I am a long time system works user and this kept me from installing this on my tablet.
That said, I don't know if this points you towards a different path for your solution or not.
