Sorry I can't try that green thing. I returned it as fast as I could. My unit did the dithering, it was bowed (yes bowed 1/4" higher in middle when a ruler was put on top it see saw'ed, it smelled of spray paint and the fan turned on off every 10 seconds.

Sorry, not good qc if you ask me. But I did experiment and in all cases, the green shades looked really bad. All other colors were just fine.

I went back to my Motion 1300 for now btw.

The bowing is due to the molding process and they all have it but it isn't very noticeable in most untis. My first one was quite bad but it was replaced for a new one that was hardly noticeable. Mine had the fan problem too for the first week but then it went away and never reoccured. I dont have any complaints except that the computer wont actually clip to the keyboard and never noticed the green thing.

My unit had no bowing, and as far as I can tell, the greens look fine when compared to the other colors. No paint spells, nothing funky about it.

I do notice the fan comes on a lot more when I have it plugged in, or after I have just unplugged it. Otherwise, it is very quiet and cool. If the fan comes on it is usually the first speed which is whisper quiet. The faster speed makes about as much noise as a CD spinning-a little louder then I'd like, but nothing compared to the racket I've heard from some notebooks.

Hi all,

I'm typing on my new 2010 and I just noticed something I hadn't seen before, the angle is off for my 5'5" height. To really see the screen I have to bend down as if I were 4'8" in height. Of course this must be just me otherwise someone else would have mentioned it and I don't think I saw that this was the Midgit User's Tablet PC forum.

Now after 4 hours of use I'll give you my impressions.

First, I was immediately disappointed as the unit was slightly stinky from the paint smell, but this went away fairly quickly. (No green color issues for me).

Second, I found that I have a weird dead zone about 2" by 9" across one side that I can't write in or paint on. Sometimes the curser will hang as I cross this forbidden zone, then jerk and make a straight line. This is a bad thing for me as I was trying to make a circle in Alias and couldn't.

Third, I may just have a bad unit because I tried connecting three different firewire devices and 2 of the 3 couldn't be seen by xp and stranger, the 3rd one could be seen, clicked on, able to get the properties on this drive, but it would not open up. (It is a dvd drive). So I can't apparently use firewire devices with my tablet..so far..but this is another bad thing. So if anyone who has a 20x0 can report on their experiences with firewire devices it might be helpful.

Fourth, the separate keyboard is pretty good, better than I thought and much easier to type on than my Apple G4 notebook. Good quality keyboard. But...But...the connecting method between slate and keyboard seems like it could break very, very easily. But it works pretty well, I'd just suggest caution during daily use. It would have been nice to have the tablet and screen be adjustible for tilt. You get one viewing angle and that's it.

Fifth, there is a nice feel to the slate part alone, it's light, easy to hold and looks well made. And I like the port selection, assuming they all work (check your firewire other owners).

Sixth, I had to download about 55 megs of updates to bring the computer up-to-date and it would have been a nice touch to have had this included on a supplement CD-ROM.

Seventh, the unit came with a very nice carrying case and 3 restore CD's. Not much of a manual but adequate.

The defective writing zone makes it an automatic return for me, but before I return it, I'm going to take it to a local Best Buy and see if they have a external DVD/CDRW burner that will hook up to it and be recognized.

Will I ask for my money back? ....I'm thinking yes as I get nervous when a product is DOA (defective on arrival in my case), and I read here about some other returns and I follow my gut on these things. I'm really bummed about this as I bought an external firewire drive, an expensive carrying case and OneNote 2003 to use.

I can say that the company was great at getting me my unit in time for my vacation, but a defective unit is not much of a treat as you can imagine.

I'm back to shopping for another TPC, sigh.... what a bummer.

Also, exactly what kind of memory and hard drives can I use for upgrades?

I ordered a Storix DVD/CD-RW, does anyone have any experience with them?
