Hey all,
I'm having trouble with the Scribbler, and I can't boot from a USB CD device... I need to use the Recovery CDs to return the unit to the way it was supposed to be when the manufacturer shipped it, but I can't get the Scribbler to recognize the device.
The BIOS has "CD-ROM", "Removable Device", and "Hard Drive" (listed in that order), and I had the USB cable to a USB 2.0 compatible CD-RW plugged with power on and the CD inside before I turned the Scribbler on... but it won't see it until *after* Windows XP is loaded... then it can read the contents of the CD just fine...
In the BIOS, there are booting options for Firewire and PCMCIA devices, but USB is not to be found, despite the fact that the manual says it can boot from USB, and tech support says it can too...
Has anyone actually tried it yet? What about seeing if it'll even start to boot off the recovery CD (but not actually recovering the setup...)
Your help would be much appreciated!
j.
