Check the Franklin Covey store/site. They've got a couple of models. One is a canvas/wood scissor frame; the other is an attractive solid wood design.
anyone seen any nice stands or drafting tables, either to put on a desk or stand alone? my neck is hurting from looking down.
thanks

I can't find those on their site. Do you have a URL by any chance?
thanks
Unfortunately FranklinCovey no longer carries this. I've checked out other sites with no luck. Pity --- this is a winning design. There's a thread somewhere in the discussion forum about this and it has pictures. It shouldn't be that difficult to construct.

I actually bought mine in the store. I made the mistake of assuming the same was on the website. I apologize for any confusion.

You will find lots of strange looking things if you do a search on google for "plate stands", "desktop easel", and the ever popular "copy holder".

I think I would have to shy away from the stand that motion sells... it isn't nearly stable enough to actually set the tablet in and write on the tablet screen.
It would work alright if you use an external keyboard and mouse though.
The problem with the Motion thingy and a plate holder is that there is no counterweight and there is no make the unit snug. I've got some photos of the canvas/wood holder from different angles (looks a lot like a micro-lounge chair) [8D] If anyone is intersted I'll post them, but I have to find them first. I'd still like to build it.

You can't see the stand at all (and that was one of the goals in the setup - that the suspension system should be virtually invisible). It really looks as though the Tablet PCs are just floating above the desk.
It is actually suspended from the side (left) and the support pieces made of alloy tubing, joints and brackets like this:

It swings like a gate so I can push it back when I want to work in portrait mode on the desk. It also supports the Tablet PCs in portrait mode if I want.
You can get the bits and pieces here:
