Be certain your 802.lx (WPA) check box is unchecked. Windows Update probably added the WPA patch and if your AP doesn't support WPA, you won't be able to connect.
Hope someone can throw light on this, I can connect at home to my Linksys WAP OK (WEP Off), I used to be able to connect at work to a Cisco WAP (WEP enabled) but cannot any longer. The Tablet can see the Cisco AP and prompts to say a WiFi Network Connection is available but won't connect.
The Cisco AP uses WEP, my home AP used to but I switched it off a while back in an effort to improve the range so have not yet tried re-enabling it to see if it blows out that connection also. I've confirmed the CISCO WEP key is correct and can connect from my iPAQ using the same key so that's not the issue.
Would any Windows Update have blown the connection and prevented me from connecting to an AP that is WEP enabled?

I've confimrmed that the WPA patch is not installed. Re-enabled WEP on the home AP and can connect fine, just not to the Cisco WEP at work :(.

What Cisco AP do you have at work? Did the AP get reconfigured? I know that some Cisco AP's use EAP, which the Windows Zero Configuration software doesn't support. Maybe you should try the Odyssey client...

Hmm, not too sure of the model, maybe a 350?, it's not been re-configured and other clients using WinXP and Cisco PCMCIA cards work OK. I may try a Cisco PCMCIA Card in an effort to debug.

I just found this article (http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-626...ml?tag=topic5h) over at http://www.techrepublic.com regarding WPA and WEP. Check it out. Maybe it will help.
