I was 100% ready to buy and then saw that there's no firwire onboard, then I thought ot myself... I'll just use my Cardbus PCMCIA card 1394 adatper... BUZZ sorry, no PC Card slot, just CF.

So last ditch effort to you NEC owners, any way to get firewire into this beastie? I searched for Compact Flash Firewire Card - and just like a stray cat in heat picked up every tom **** and harry's compact flash card reader. But no adapters!

I have a heavy investment in extneral firewire drives, cameras and other goodies and am not at all interested in USB 2.0 - hence this driving desire.

    Thanks all in advance!

I saw that-I wonder how well it works-anyone care to elaborate?

It works great, but the flexible converter makes it all a little floppy, I was thinking about taping it around back, but since I'm being loaned the unit, I haven't.

As to the firewire pc card... I'll have to look when I'm back in the office next Wednesday or Thursday.

It's an old keyspan firewire card.... I've had it for about 3 or 4 years, but it works perfectly via the cf to pccard dongle.

What does that mean, no PC card just CF? Sorry for being dense here.
