No idea. I have not heard any rumors or anything such as that. I suspect it will be a while though.
Hi,
I have been out of the loop for a bit on the TabletPC marktet. When is the next generation (after the M1300) of Tablet due out? Any guesses as to a date and to specs?
Alan

Hi -
Obviously, I cannot speak to this specific question, but for now we are enjoying our position of offering the only Centrino slate, the only 12.1" display on a slate, and being the only vendor able to predictably and consistently deliver product.
Thanx,
steveh

others statements are fine, but I'm afraid this one is a tad unfiar on compaq, tosh, acer etc. etc.quote:Originally posted by steveh from motion

The M1300 could probably still be considered a new model - June 2nd for the 1Ghz, if I recall correctly. When you're already at the head of the pack (my opinion) you can be more deliberate with growth and expansion plans because the equation is about maintaining the lead rather than a panicked rush to catch the bandwagon a la HP.
I believe there will be a new Motion, but when? The only factor that might cause an early announcement as far as I can see is if the as yet vapour-product new HP actually gets spec'ed and is materially stronger in some significant way than the M1300. Unlikely, but possible. That might force a quick response.
My bet: Dec-Jan definition released, Mar-Apr product launch. Further speculation: Keep the 12" screen but up the res to 1280 or better, base 1Gb Max 16 Gb, 256 Mb fully directX video, 80 Gb hd, usual array of ports, 11G or higher. 1.6 - 2Ghz ULV pentium M.
Most of these specs are just gleams in an engineer's eye for the mobile market at this time, but may be acheivable in 6 mos.
Anybody else got any cool ideas to add to the wishlist?

Not completely I don't think... think about about it a minute. Compaq, Acer and Toshiba have all had supply line troubles, with people having to sometimes wait over a month before their Tablet PC even shipped. You don't hear about this with Motion, there have been no supply troubles with their hardware that I know of. There are some others who have been able to deliver hardware on a consistent basis, but for the most part they are the smaller players in the market. Only recently have the other OEMs caught up as the market has stalled somewhat waiting on Centrino units such as the M1300.quote:Originally posted by apyyc101
