I love my tablet. However, I do not know what to buy in order to be able to print or attach my digital camera (serial port connector) I do not have a docking station and to tell the truth it seems like overkill. Do I need a hub like the Zircon hubs on ebay? Does it need to be special to work with the tablet? I would appreciate any help. Deane

Well, if you're lucky, and your camera uses CompactFlash for memory, you can just insert the CF card into the TC1000 and view the pictures that way.

Other than that, we need more detail. What kind of camera do you have?

You could always buy a USB to serial converted for the connector. Or, if the camera uses SD memory, you could buy a small SD-CF converter for $30 or so that would allow you to read the memory card on the tablet. Many of the 6-in-1 readers are cheap too if you wanted even more flexibility. There are a number of options.

Thanks Steve. You know how you can get into a rut and not see the other trees. I was going to look for a serial male to male to connect camera to video port; did not even think of getting a serial to usb connector. So that is an option for my Casio QV-100 which doe not, unfortunately, take CF. What about the idea of a hub. I will also need to print. Thanks for your help.

Connect a serial to the video port? I don't think you would have had much luck with that.
It appears the camera only has built in and not removeable memory. So the only option would be a serial to USB adaptor.

Somthing like that ought to do the trick.

Is the printer parellel or USB?
If its parellel you would need some sort of adaptor for that as well.

As far as needing a hub goes, it depends if you want to be able to connect more than 2 devices to the tablet at once. If you are already using a USB mouse for example and you want to use both the camera and the printer at the same time then a hub would be required.
You then have to decide if you want a USB 2.0 hub or not, and how many ports you require. A usb 2.0 hub will be more expensive but will be needed if you want to attach high speed devices like external CD-R and DVD drives through it.
