Has anybody used a power pad with their tc1000? It's not listed on the Electrovaya webpage, and they aren't responding to e-mails very quickly.

It'd be nice to have over 10-12 hours of battery life :D

Yeah, there aren't alot of newer laptops listed on their either. However, I'm willing to bet that compaq used the same size connector and power brick that they used on other laptop models. That would allow the powerpad to work fine with the TC1000, in theory.

The 120 or 160wH model would last forever probably. Maybe 16 hours with the internal battery charged as well?

BTW, the only drawback is that it does not charge your internal battery while the powerpad is plugged into TC1000. With other machines like IBM Thinkpad X23, it provide power from teh powerpad and at the same time charges the internal battery.

Interesting. They got back to me today and told me to use the D version of the product, with the A44 adapter, not 55. Wierd.

I think the version D comes with an AC adapter, which is for the pad only.

Could someone explain to me how this works? I'm not completely clear on the mechanics. What has to be plugged in to where? Is it TC1000->Compaq power adapter->Powerpad->AC outlet, or TC1000->powerpad->AC outlet. I wouldn't be worried about it charging the internal battery, since I can juggle cables and adapters once I'm at home, but if all I need is the pad and a cable to go between it and the tablet, I'd be interested, as long as said cable wasn't the Compaq brick.
