I had just met with my compaq rep yesterday and he gave me the latest news on the next generation of the compaq tab pc. As the procurement manager of a large public company I have regular meetings with HP/CPQ since we are almost a total compaq shop (3000 employees). The specs he gave me on the next gen are as follows:

Processor: Pentium M, Celeron, and possibly another Transmeta.
Note* the chipset on the spec sheet was a intel chipset.
Video: Nvidia with 32 mb ram.
Memory: 333Mhz with a max of 2GB
Pressure sensitive

There were a few other changes as well but these appear to be the major ones. He showed a ship date of Sept/Oct range.

You can take this for what its worth, but the specs I gave above were right off his "confidential" specs sheets. The info he gave me in the past has always been right on.

I am certainly looking forward to these changes.
