Your best bet is to go to Crucial.com. We put memory upgrades in 100s of LE1700s and never had a problem using their memory. They will tell you how much you can install and which chips/speeds are best.
What is the best memory for the LE 1700 that makes sense? I've looked on the forums, as well as TigerDirect, NewEgg and Motion Computing. Motion says the machine will take "4GB (2x2) sticks of DDR2 (PC5300) 667MHz With Dual-Channel memory support." Others sites say one could use the faster(?) PC6400 800MHz modules. Would my machine be able to use these at the rated 800MHz speed while running Win7 32bit?

I agree with John, i also have used Crucial.com to upgrade my LE1700 and numerous other computers and they always work great!...now we just need to get free memory for the plugs..lol
Current:Motion LE1700
Thanks, JohnHill and ks9818. I ended up with Kingston KVR667D2S5K2/4G since I was havingdifficulty with the other suppliers' memory choosers. BTW: I've read a lot about SSD's and would be interested in where to get one at least 80 or 100 gigs depending on price.? For the same machine… Need to post in another forum topic?

Sorry for the delay but I was on vacation the last week.
We have purchased SSDs from http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/. Nice guys to do business with last time I worked with them.
