tc1100 jog dial partially working

My trusty old tc1100 jog dial works partially, and I need it to function completely as I have a grub menu on boot up and need to select between windows and linux. the problem is that the jog dial click works, but page up and page down is not functioning. This indicates hardware problem is more than likely. I need to identify if it is the contacts or something else. Any hints?

on my old and rusty tc, when it arrived off ebay, the inlay of the pen slot and had become loose and shoved further into the slot. made the pen a pain to slot in and affected the jog dial. Had to take it apart and do away with the inlay and later ordered a spare inlay and put that in. I probably describe this in some old posts here... :)

Thank you-- I finally got it booted into windows and every program I opened the jog dial was scrolling to the end of everything- like it was stuck. I'll look into the problem- I appreciate any insights the pen slot hasn't seemed to move, but one never knows.

Update: Well, after a couple of on the docking station reboots to windows the jog dial is acting normally. I should mention that it may have gotten some moisture near it from an open window, this may have been the problem the contacts hadn't fully dried although I thought they had. Anyway, I'm good for now.

Update: Just purchased a backup unit
