Hey guys,
after half a year of internship, I'm returning to my studies. My TC1100 has already walked me through university for 2 years, so I'm not planning to put it aside just yet. Incredible, that no manufacturer since 2003 has managed to produce a device equal in quality and that outstanding design and usability.
I've read about memory and even some speed improvements in Windows 8. I do not need the Metro interface (not yet, not before they included consumer reports and enhance the interface). But I guess Windows 8 may have something better to offer than Windows 7.
Has anybody succeeded to fully install all drivers? Meaning WiFi, video card!, etc...?
If yes, can you post how you did it? I think I'll start installing tomorrow and see how far I get.
Awaiting your positive replies ;-)

Well, has anybody managed to get those video card drivers working properly?
Was it woth the effort?
I used a day to optimize my Windows 7 installation as I couldn't find another harddisk.
And boy, that thing runs like no other pc!!!!
Ended many services, removed unnecessary programes/files, tweaked some registry setting, etc..
Smooth as hell.
I'll be waiting for the first beta of Windows 8!
The graphics worked in the sense that it displayed the proper resolution. I don't think I ever got the proper nvidia drivers installed though. In my brief testing, windows 8 was not significantly better than a well optimized windows 7 install. Metro is fun on a touch tablet, but odd with pen only.

Interesting.
I'm rocking with a 256mb RAM TC1000 , it is very slow I tells you!
I wish one day I could install win7 on it,that would be neat. Of course I have to upgrade the ram,not sure if the CPU could run win7.
Good job Mastin, impressive work on win8
I have the consumer preview running on my tc1100 with 2gb ram. Does pretty well for one note, email and editing word docs. I still rdp into my desktop for more powerful apps like Visual Studio.
look at the sticky thread in this forum. If you can only get 2 hour battery... then you either need to shut down stuff, as well as running on lower brightness and/or your battery is dying.
