Default Convert CCFL to LED backlight on an M200?

I just picked up a used M200 ($95.. couldn't resist) and was thinking of upgrading it a bit. Had some old RAM lying about, so it's now running at 1 GB on Win 7. Luckily, it came with the 1.6 GHz Dothan CPU, so I'll hold off upgrading the CPU for now, though I'm tempted to stick a 2 GHz one in there. The one thing that I was thinking of doing, which would add to the usability for me, was replacing the CCFL backlight with an LED one. Checking around on the net, I see that there are kits available.. but not for the M200. Has anyone else done the upgrade?

Nuh uh. I changed out the CCFL when it died but couldn't justify investing more for an additional upgrade. Still kicking though.

Reminds me. I've been gonna pop the screen cover and clean out the dust. There's always that one speck right there in the middle

Yup, got that too. Thing is, I only notice it because I know it's there, and that's why it bugs me. I live year-round in a camper and try to squeeze the most out of what solar I get.. that's why the interest in converting. Gonna also try some undervolting to see where it gets me. Still tempted to pop in a 2 GHz chip though, since a used one is dirt cheap.

I would also be interested in hearing if anyone has converted an old tablet to LED lighting.

I found this lcdparts.net site that has kits but i couldn't ascertain if any of them would fit my LE1600.

Yup, that's the same site I dragged up. Looking at some of the available kits, one could have an almost blindingly bright screen. It's just finding the right one, I suppose.

    Don't see a kit for the M200, sadly. :(
