they always look good, it does look promising. I have one question - it is about intel atom processors! The tech specs showed this Intel Atom Z530@1.6GHz as the processor. How well do these atom intel chips do mutlitasking and such. Although I must admit it the cregle penbook looks like a step in the right direction - with a 10.1 screen it moves back toward the 1100, and hopefully with more power. It does have usb, sd mmc and all that I'd need in a unit, except I find 32gb hard drive as a limiting factor. (I tend to use my unit as a desktop replacement, but the sd addon should compensate)

To Michele- it looks like they are looking for reviewers so do you think you could get your hands on one of these? You qualify under their system.

I've seen it and been in communications with their PR to try to get a sample for review. I was promised they would try to pull one for me way back when the news first broke. I've heard from them once more since then, but even than was weeks ago. I've been hesitant to post it as a news item on the front page until they actually bring their product to market. But I have gotten confirmation that it is indeed a WACOM digitizer!

I've had several Atom Z based machines. They're slow, but once things load they go okay. The Archos 9 I used in my inking video is a slower Z515 at 1.2, and the HP Slate is a slightly faster Z5somthing at 1.86. Performance is passable if not blazing - on par with a TC1100.

Any idea on what the price will be?

I've been wondering about the advantages/disadvantages between a Window 7 Tablet vs a Android Tablet. As I see it with Windows 7, I can install any software I want, but the software won't really be geared for the tablet, it'll assume you have mouse and a keyboard. With an Android the software knows you are on a tablet, but your at the whims of the android market and can only use what they provide. I'm still undecided as to which is better for me.

Excellent! Now if only you could get your hands on one! ;)

Anything on par with the tc1100 would be okay with me as I'm used to it.

Resolution is a huge factor for me. Don't care about disk space. Also, the Atom processor scares me a bit.

Al said and done, less then a pound lighter than the LE1700 Ultraview you are giving up:

    1) Ultraview

    2) Amazing resolution

    3) 12.1" Screen

    4) A real computer - with an SSD

    5) Touch is a bad thing for me. I want JUST pen recognition.

    6) The Motion name

    7) RAM/Processor/ Flexibility in replacements

... is giving all of this really worth .7lbs and better battery life? Not for me!
Tablet I have owned...and how much I enjoyed them:

How about trying out android without getting an android machine

Be aware that the experience might not be complete because vm doesn't always show everything especially if you want to run special apps. It might give you an idea whether you'd like to try android out though.

I'm glued to windows because of job related software!

Ah, I see and think you are correct.

My wish in a tablet is very simple- full windows pc, usb, video out, ear jacks, stylus wacom active digitizer and thinner and long battery, affordable. Simple! (Since they are reading here- thought I'd mention my wants)

    i like this one:
    -----
The Samsung Series 7 tablet features an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel capacitive touchscreen display and an active digitizer for precise, pressure-sensitive input with a digital pen.

It has an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a solid state disk instead of a hard drive. Samsung says the tablet can run for up to 7 hours on a charge, which isn’t bad at all for a slate-style computer running Windows 7.

Samsung will charge $1099 for the base model with a 64GB solid state disk. For $1349 you can snag a model with 128GB of storage and a docking station and Bluetooth keyboard.
