okwow. Now I think I want one of these again.
Yes, it can be done. This is my unit with a new view anywhere screen.
Solo Core unit with Bluetooth Mod. 4gig mem. and Atheros Wifi Card. and yes, full resolution, accelerated opengl and quartz. Digitizer works great too..
Everything works but: PCMCIA,IR, fingerprint scanner.. (i'm working on that)
Also... for some reason the unit can load OSX in 64bit mode. . Graphics Natit is on 64bit mode. and some other system resources. The CPU for what I understand is not a 64bit CPU..but nevertheless I have items running as 64bit native. I'm going to verify this.

Let me tell you...this thing works great...I don't know why Apple has not made a "MAC TABLET"...cause the Ipad does not come close..to this..
I'm going to do another update on this unit.. Im going to install a touch panel 5 wire unit..just waiting on specifics sizes, cause I dont have much space for the wiring coming out of the panel..

Well, I can't really say hence..the battery it has is used..this unit was purchased on Ebay..and it was all messed up, even had to repaint the top bezel..as for the battery, I get about 2 hours on a full charge....thats just browsing, however, I played Angry Birds for an 1 hour straight at full res and speakers blasting...and then it warned me the battery was 7%....:( after the hour. im sure with a new battery and the xtended battery you can get more time.

But i think a good cap touch is much more better than a resist one. Would be absolut great to fit one in a LE1700.
were the pics taken down?
