First thanks very much for posting your installation experiences with the Le1700. I have tried this when the first snow leopard came out 10.6.0 but i could never get the screen resolution right so i quit the project.
You have inspired me to try again, and for my surprise i was able to boot up on 10.6.3. Though the resolution did not work out fo the box , after the 10.6.8 combo update and some kext copying i was also able to get my 1050x1400 resolution which made me really happy.
I also installed tablet magic and my digitizer is working wonderfully. There are a few things that i couldn't get going, and it seems like you did.
Things that did not work:
Display: QE/CI is not enabled , not getting transluscent menu, or have the option to turn it on, like you do according to your pictures. Chess is very slow also a sign that qe/ci is not going.
Sound: Though is seemed to be working when i change the volume with keybard connected, no sound comes out from the speakers. something is installed though.
Battery: I tried using VooddoBattery.kext it shows and icon that displays (calculating) along with battery icon but it does not track the battery status, nor does it update from " AC connected" to normal when i pull or connect the AC adapter.
Power management: Cpu is locked at 1.5 Ghz all the time which is making it really hot. I am afraid to try voodoominipower kext, because i heard it can cause kernel panics, and i have put so many hours on it already to mess it up again.
Wiresless LAN: Not working but that is because i have the Intel card which is not supported. I will buy another one.
I would really apreciate if you could give me some advices on what kexts and what not, you used to get it going so well.
My LE1700 specs are:
Intel L7400 Core2Duo
4 Gb Ram
Intel GMA 950
Toshiba slow ass 80 gb HD
Intel WLAN, don't know the model but it a proset series
View anywhere 1400x1050 screen
Help me please, this is becoming an obsession that i have to breakfree from.
Any help is very apreciated.
J. Rodrigues
