More than 4gb ram on a 64bit le1700?

Has anyone had any confirmation on this? I haven't been able to find anything definitive on the boards here. Can you, in fact, put two 4gb ram chips into a le1700 running a 64bit Win7 OS and actually get more than 4gb of ram to show up? Would be great to know. Really great.

I think the Intel 945 chipset can only see 2GB of RAM per channel, so it wouldn't boot with a 4GB stick. At least all the 1st gen atom netbooks work that way, and they run on the 945 chipset. I guess it's the 945 since the graphics are Intel GMA 950, but you might want to confirm what chipset you've got and how much RAM it can see per channel.

I went looking for it in the device manager but didn't see it. I forget where it is on the computer, but a quick check of the specs sheet should do it. Which processor do you have? Motion's website lists Intel® 945GM Express with the Core2Duo.

I haven't had enough coffee to make sense of it, but I'm pretty sure it can only see 2GB per channel, so no 4GB sticks.
