Well since I can't get through to their sales line...

1.) Does Motion have a dead pixel policy on the display?

2.) What is the Motion policy regarding returns if you don't like the product etc.?

    Thanks,

    Cameron

Sorry to tell ou this but NO. And I got them dead pixels and several cosmetic issues (burnt screen/pixels) with a 2 day old tablet 1300. I would not recomemend buying from them ever! I also know that they have a seroius glitch in their billing and distibution systems. So good luck seeing a 10 day delivery date. They don't call back and both Brandon and Keesha in the tech support department refuse to even start a RMA for these defects.

I was going to place a 100 piece order with MC for a Gov. Client...now I would not even think about going with them.

    Hope this helps.

When you say burnt pixels, do you have a dead zone on the screen? Like a strip? If you do then Motion is fixing that and a new connector is coming out for it. I have one like that and I was able to set up a case Number for it.

    Thanks

In fairness to Motion, all direct sales companies are similar in not really wanting to know anything about dead Pixels, which is one of the advantages of paying a little more at CircuitCity and getting a no quibble return on a laptop (waaay less choice though). The idea is that these direct sale companies figure most users won't bother returning for a dead pixel, and will usually only accept returns for a certain number of dead pixels. They'd prefer to do that than take a financial hit if they started doing real QC on the LCD's. The My experience with Dell indicates the same policy.

The dead strip is a whole other matter and I've yet to see Motion come up with a fix for me and others affected. My boss recently asked for recommendations for a tablet but I couldn't recommend Motion because of the dead strip issue; he ended up getting a Tosh tablet.

Motion does have a policy regarding dead pixels and returns. They don't have any return policy.

They emailed me (finally) some details earlier today regarding that subject. According to that, they should replace your tablet if you have a dead strip or the like.

Dead pixels are a natural consequence of a liquid crystal display, thus it is more and more being classified under an act of God or a defect that cannot be controlled and thus they are not warranting God's actions. I can accept that, although I to wish my device were perfect. But I have scratches in my car and I wish I could just take my car in and get a brand new one, too. That, however, isn't gonna happen, to my dismay.

Well most dead pixels are a result of a defect in the manufacturing process. I would be pretty ticked off if I went and bought an expensive car and they tried to sell me one that had scratches.

Would you be "pretty ticked off" if you bought a million light bulbs and one happened to be defective?

I doubt you can get a refund/return for a single dead pixel for any sub-2000$ screen.
