We are equipping our non-technical sales/service people with Tablets, and I thought I had the customer database software issue resolved--Act! database with VPN synchronization to a small biz server. All good except that Act! does not support Tablet PC which means Act Library cannot be used with either of the file types that Journal allows you to Save As or Export As.

I am thinking of building an Access database, but would like something out of the box if possible, basically customer info with some attached files. Our other current consideration is Groove (groove.net) which I like for the instant synchronization over our wireless networks (or Starbucks').

Again, we are a simple bunch, and I'm using the Tablets to ease away from pen, paper and manila folders.

If you decide to go the Access route, I put together a How-To on using Access and ink. You could easily modify the included source for you customer contact info and get some idea of saving the ink into a memo field. You can find the demo on www.tabletpcdeveloper.com under the Samples Section named Hello-InkWorld. A couple descreptancies exist in the doc between the source and instructions, but they are just cosmetic.

I'll try to clean up the files and upload to the software library in the next couple days.
