Thread: Need help with TC1100, Win7 and Photoshop

  1. Default Need help with TC1100, Win7 and Photoshop

So guys, the TC1100 runs Win7 nicely, but I have no pen pressure in Cs4, or 5 and if I say draw an S its more like a backward Z. It actually looks like etch a sketch. I draw and three second later it follows the path I take with none of the curves.

So far I have not found a single thread where anyone has gotten Photoshop to work correctly under Win7 on this machine. If anyone has can you tell me which version of photoshop your using and which Wacom drivers?

The only time I've got pen pressure to work, the screen wouldn't calibrate and the pen worked in nothing else. So it either works everywhere else but not in photoshop, or in photoshop and no where else. Urgh!

I'm trying to decide if I'll just go to xp tablet but I don't want to since I'm using Office 2010.

Under device manager, I show Human Interface devices. I have Wacom ISD HID MiniDriver, and Wacom Virtual Hid Driver, and also Compaq Tablet PC Key Buttons, under Mice and other pointing devices I show a Wacom Mouse. These are the only references I show listed that I thought might be relevant. Which of these should I uninstall and what should I replace it with?

Hopefully one of you guys can help me out. This has plagued me for months. I don't need Photoshop to be fast but I need it to keep up with my pen movement and make curves if I draw them..and of course pen pressure. :)

    Thanks!

I found that the Wacom driver from HP "SP24581" HERE has been the best one that I have found. I don't have Photoshop but give it a try. I know I had problems with other programs trying to get the pressure to work and this one did the trick.
Make sure you uninstall the old Wacom drive first then reboot, Just doing a driver update does not always work right.

Thanks, I'll try it. Which of those three Drivers that say Wacom should I be uninstalling? I also remember, the last time I tried this Win7 would install a driver the second I logged back into windows after reboot. I don't remember which driver but it was for tablets I think. I'm just trying to figure out what I have been doing wrong.

Anyone know what the first version of photoshop that used pen pressure? I don't mind using an older photoshop since I just want access to the most basic features..like brush tools and making alpha channels etc..
