HP tc1100 Touchscreen Mod: Can it be done?

Have recently purchased a tc1100 and, while I've upgraded it with all of the bells and whistles (120GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Windows 7, etc.), I'm contemplating whether or not it can be upgraded even further to utilize a resistive touchscreen.

For example, on eBay, there's a resistive 4-wire 10.4" screen from ELO that, at least on the surface, looks like it might workable (159mm x 212mm x .3mm thick) -- and it's cheap. That particular unit requires, if my research is correct, a small AT4 board that can interface either via USB or Serial port, depending on the model you purchase.

I know the space inside the tc1100 case is pretty tight, but looking at the sizes of the parts, I think it all could be made to fit inside on the screen side of the case. This particular screen offers the ability to input via finger or stylus, so that may make the digitizer obsolete (meaning, it could potentially be removed.)

I'm just not entirely sure how I'd rig it all up.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? And, if so, do you have any tips? Can it be done?

He just attached it over the current screen, as the digitizer will still work through the resistive layer.

Unfortunately, that means routing the wires over the outside of the case. I doubt you'd want to replace the digitizer entirely, as even with a stylus, the resistive screen will not give you near the accuracy of the active digitizer, but I guess it really depends on your usage.
