In the TIP tools, Options, in the handwriting tab, under new writing line, move the slider to less. In the Ink to Text Conversion tablet, on the distance from ink, move the slider to less. If all else fails, on Advanced Tab, hit Restore Defaults.
Hello.... I have 4tablets, the 3500, running Windows 7, used for physician input.
My tablet was working great overall, until this AM, on startup, the handwriting input panel is not operating correctly. See below. Basically, when I write a word the 'space' around the word is enlarged, so the next word I write on the same line gets swallowed by that space. In the pic below I highlighted one word to show how much space the computer has alotted for that word. Any words to follow on the same line would be swallowed.
The weird thing is that we've had this issue with the other 3 tablets for the few wks we've had them, while mine, which I've had for at least a month, only started having the problem today. My IT guy is going crazy trying to figure out what is going on.
It seems to be a win 7 issue. I never had this issue with WinXP on the LE1600.
Anyone else had this problem?
thanks

thanks John. I've tried that before. It still doesnt work. Its very weird.

...If you haven't already done so, you really should contact Motion Tech Support about this. The fact that this is happening to all 4 tablets suggests that it is a systemic problem. The fact that the occurrences are widely separated in time suggests that it is not related to Windows Update.
If you have not made any changes to your software load (like a dedicated medical app, for example), then this may be the result of some problem with the factory software image, and Motion has an obligation to help you fix that...
Good luck...
we DO have medical software installed. The software requires going to 1.1 .Net framwork, which is an older version. This may or may not have something to do with it. Funny thing is, my 3500 was working for 2months with all software installed (unlike the other tablets), until Monday AM on restart, then it started having the same problem as the other tablets.
Also, I discoverd today that our Lenovo x200 tablet is having the same issue (it is an older tablet) running Win 7. Other tablets and x200 running Win XP are fine. We didnt know about the Lenovo because the doc using it does not use handwriting rec.
Anyway, some kind of emerging issue with our software (eClinicalworks) and Win 7 and the tablet input panel.
A real pain, as all the tablets are essentially useless to us right now.
I'll keep everyone updated with new findings.
Ben
I have a partner that sells eClinicalWorks and I'll ask him if he has had any experience with this.
John
I emailed my eCW guy and he had never heard of this problem but suggested putting a support ticket into eCW.
