Should not be a problem to use the USB port i guess, maybe a bit easier as the pins have more spacing.

You can buy from ebay a bezel without the glass, look for a 11" touch pannel (i do not think that the 12" will fit and the 10.4" will be too small to seat properly on the bezel shoulder), place it on the bezel, should be able to keep at least 5 mm of the touch pannel glass over the bezel shoulder. Then fill the gap with some compound or if can find a 2-3 mm plexi and someone to laser cut it will be even better.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a TC1100 and I'm thinking of trying to add a touch screen to it, I have some doubts though.

Does soldering the touch panel to the keyboard connector affects the keyboard use? If I attach the keyboard would it work at same time than touch panel, or will only one of them work? Or none of them work?

Another doubt is what happens when I use the pen instead the finger? The OS will receive two signals one for the Wacom and another for the touch panel (which is resistive and so it would react to the pen tip touch)? Or is the OS smart enough to listen to the Wacom interface only?

Hi, to answer your questions:
- yes, will affect, only one at a time can be used. You can use one of the other 2 USB ports instead, and keep the keyboard functional;

- as long you calibrate the touch screen properly, you can use both in the same time. You can also make a script that can be triggered by one of the buttons to toggle between them...
