Hi again!
bring new and juicy news!
some time ago, I began to acquire motion machinery
almost like an addiction! haha, no is true! I love these small, I look like a work of engineering that is ahead of the time.ok, to the grain.
Some of those who already know me, will know that I like to experiment with these bugs (referring to tablets ehh, :-)), the case was, reading some posts about an a cheap update between le1600-le1800(the last is a community idea), I started to developing a update of a le1600, well, saving some money, bought 5 le1600TS in Usa and a le1700 motherboard in France. The first challenge was replicate the tech to prepare a solo core motherboard to support dual core processors, impossible? not, laborious, yes.
Based on that 64bit dual core technology is needed, discard the idea...and remembering the ancient pemtium overdriveīs over 486 tech decide to test a trial with a cascade assembly form factor, almost certainly it would not work, surprisingly, the machine starts, and the bios screen appears suddenly... was almost crying with joy!!.
(here are many steps above that I am omitting to summarize)
Initially, the bios was doing weird things and required several months of development but I finally got everything working properly.
The result ... the first dual processor le1600.
Iīm including schematics, bios file, photos and a guide step by step to make the mod.
Attached is a screen of the win7 properties (see the ram amount, haha, is amazing!!), the windows experience evaluator canīt test the machine resources, and the next step is update the video card module and I hope you like ... questions welcome.
Regards to all.
dRC.
