i have a Toshiba Portege m200 i need help with network boot or sd card boot it took me 3days to get windows xp on it with network boot now i got the restore disks and can not get the network boot or the sd card boot to work please help me

Only 3 days?... Took me way longer than that the first time.

If you got the network boot to work before you must have all the PXE stuff set up on your host machine already. A real restore disc should be a snap from there.

How far are you getting?

not very when i got the xp on there the host pc died and i dont remember how i got it to work but i have another laptop but not the same thing its a hp not a toshiba can i put the hard drive in to that restore it and put it back in to the toshiba?

Nope not gonna work that way. BTDT.

XP will let you load, but then not work when you put the disc in another machine. The Toshiba disc won't even let you load on a non-applicable machine. It checks right from the get go.

You're gonna have to start over and set up a host again.

(remember to use a crossover cable when going machine to machine)

Once you get it to work it's stunning that the whole thing will load in like 5 minutes!

You'll like the nifty stuff on the restore disc, but it's going to be SP1 or SP2 and you'll have to go through all the update processes. Not a bad idea to create a backup image once you get everything set the way you want so you don't have to start from scratch again.
