ASUS UL80VT microphone is not stereo ??

Hi everybody,
Happy owner of an ASUS UL80VT, I regret that the mic entry seems to be only "mono" connected on the left channel (the top of the jack).
I wanted to use Audacity to record some music >> mic guitar + mic voice connected on the only jack entry, using a connector modified by myself to connect mic guitar on the left channel and mic voice on the right. But Audacity indicates me that only the left one gives sound.
Could somebody check if the mic entry on ASUS UL80VT is not a stereo one ? Is there a driver issue to solve that problem ?

Are you running Linux Audacity or Windows Audacity?
