Are you able to go back to a restore point?
Hi - Can anyone tell me how I can recover my M1200 after a bungled graphics driver update left me without any display? I've tried safe mode and it hangs on BThid...sys and VGA maode is blank too...

Hi John and thanks for replying.
No, all I can get is the 'F8' menu but the best that offers is the 'last known good configuration' and that still gives a blank screen - which I suppose it would if I uninstalled the driver but that doesn't explain why vga mode does not work. I have also tried using the restore disks in a usb cdrom but it does not appear to recognise the drive...

Try and get into bios and check the video settings there. Also see if you can change the boot device to the usb drive. If you can boot the recovery disk, then select the repair option when you get to the reinstall menu.
Hi John, I can access the bios (pheonix bios 4.0 release 6) but there is noting in it regarding video at all... I have tried loading the default settings but it makes no difference.
I can make the boot device cdrom but it has a ! in front of it and not the + that the hard disk has, ditto the floppy drive (the floppy and cdrom drives being both external, usb ones).
Regards, Martin.
Can anyone out there help me progress this issue, please? MW
