Your best bet is to borrow a usb keyboard to verify that your keyboard is not working. You could then restore and use the virtual keyboard.
tc1100 keyboard problem, but the mouse works? also thekeyboard isnt working before windows boots, so i cant do a restore without a usb keyboard. could it be some setting? or maybe i need a new keyboard? any help or ideas would be good.

To do a restore try pressing down on the jog dial when you see the HP logo on start up. As soon as the HP logo comes up look for a small white block that comes up in the upper right hand corner of the screen. When you see the white block press down once on the jog dial and it will ask you how you want to start. The jog dial works just like a mouse even before the system boots up.
