Default Axiotron Modbook: Any artists using/used one? If so can you give a user review.

Its my understanding that professional artists mostly use Macs when doing digital art. Given this I would think a lot of artists would be interested in the Axiotron Modbook (an Apple sanctioned mod of a MacBook into a slate tablet).

Even though this is a PC forum, I was wondering if any artists here use or have used a Modbook enough to give an informative user review. Even better would be if they've used both a Modbook and Tablet PC in their professional work and could compare the two as artist tablets and general computer tablets. And on top of that have run Windows via Boot Camp on the Modbook.

My interest in the Modbook mainly stems from the fact that it is one of the few Tablets (slate or converible) regardless of the OS it uses, that has a dedicated graphics chip in it. Modbooks in recent months can be ordered with the Nvidia 9400M graphics chip. This chip now allows screen rotation into portrat mode for the Modbook according to the Axiotron site. The only shipping Tablet PC with non-intel graphics that I'm aware of is the HP TX2 that has the integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 graphics. I doubt any professional (or dedicated hobbiest) artist would be using the TX2 right now because of the N-Trig drivers not giving pressure sensitivity in Photoshop and Corel apps.

Another feature that interests me is that fact you can dual boot Vista or Windows 7 on the Modbook with Boot Camp in OSX. So you kind of get the best of both worlds. You can dabble in OSX software and Windows software.

The modbook does have drawbacks... third party mod, heat, price, and others. But still its an intriquing device. Makes me wonder though why they are now trying to do a new device based on the MacBook Pro when I think the MacBook Air would be even better modded into a slate or better yet a convertible.

So any artists, professional or otherwise, using or have used a Modbook, please give a user review.

Thanks for the sites. I had found them also.

I was hoping to find some artists in the forum that might have been using the Modbook for a while and tell me what they thought of it as not only a portable art tablet but also as a slate notebook. Something to use everyday for other activities besides art.

And if any of them could compare it to their experience with a tablet pc using it for art.
