Thread: Going to a college that requires a tablet pc

  1. Default Going to a college that requires a tablet pc

    Hi,

I need to buy a tablet pc for college this fall. My budget is around $1300, but less is always good

Actually, if anyone can find me a tablet with at least a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and a good 2 or 3 year warranty for less than my budget, I'd be most, most grateful because my university says that any deviation from those specs can result with consequences

If not, how can I buy a tablet with a good 2 or 3-year warranty with at least a 2.0 GHz processor, either Intel or AMD?

    Thank you very much!

yup, the hp tx2z line or tx2000 will fit that bill...
also you may want to look at the lenovo x200,
and also there are several fujitsu lifebooks which
are good (5010)....lastly think about the dell XT2.

    good luck..

How durable are HP tablets? They're cheap, but I need my tablet to last me 3-4 years through college, so I'm just wondering how wise it would be to save around $600 and get an HP versus buying a Toshiba M750 from my uni for $1600.

A local shop is selling the HP Pavilion TX-2525nr refurbished, and a new Touchsmart TX2-1030cm, both similar specs. I could order a TX2z with 2 years warranty from HP's main site for $1000 also.

Basically, what should I get if I want long-lasting and low price?:
    HP TX-2525nr refurb - ~$900
    HP TX2-1030cm - ~$1000
    HP TX2Z - $1000
    Toshiba M750 - $1600

    Thank you.

I have never had a problem with any of my HP tablets. And I have owned at one point or another each of the different HP tablets. It's all about which features you are looking for...
