Some of those threads refer to eBay deals long past available, but the guidance finding similar just requires persistence and patience. The flood of 1100's about a year ago (probably end of three year enterprise leases) has quieted quite a bit, but show up at any time. The very best deals with Buy-it-Now often close before generally seen.
    100% Old School tablet setup:

    Sahara i440D - 4GB/500GB/7200 - Vista screams!
    HP TC1100 1.2 - 2GB/160GB/5400 - Vista - portrait - primary computer.
    HP TC1100 1.2 - 2GB/160GB/5400 - Vista - primary work computer.
    HP TC1100 1.0 - 2GB/60GB/7200 - XP - laptop - partner's primary computer.
    Acer 303xmi 1.6 - 2GB/100GB/7200 - Vista - laptop - work computer.
    Motion M1300 1.0 - 2GB/60GB/7200 - Vista - semi-retired (needs repair).
    Motion M1300 - for parts.
    Motion M1400VA - awaiting resurrection.

    thanks, just I need.

  4. Default For those using the videos as a guide for taking apart the tc1100.

    Grounding:
Memory, wifi card etc are static sensitive components.
If you touch them with your bare hands / metal componets without grounding you can take YEARS off their life span.

Really if you can get a grounding strap around your wrist and connect it to an earth source. I prefer to use radiators which are available in each room (most heating systems should be correctly grounded).

If you can't be bothered very least hold on to a radiator with your hand for a while to minimize the risk. Whatever you do don't drag your feet across a carpet

    Wifi Card:
In the video he mentions power connectors for the wifi card.
This is not the case. Those two cables are the antenna.
I strong suggest using thin pillars to remove and reconnect (positiion then use fingers to apply pressure).
Make sure the connectors are square on before applying pressure.
    They are delicate.

    Harddrive:
    DO NOT USE METAL Picks.
Use two fingers, one each side of the drive, use your finger nails to pull the drive back off the connector evenly then use the black tag to lift and pull.
If changing harddrive try to avoid using magnetic screwdrivers to remove the screws on the harddrive.

    Pulling apart the casing:
Hes right for most part however.....
Do not use metal items around the casing. You will end up scratching something espically around the power switch (shiney bit).
When he grabs and pulls the case apart I can tell that someone has had that apart before.
First time around they do not always come apart easily. Be espically careful around the power switch as it often sticks to the other side.
If you force it open YOU WILL BREAK SOMETHING.
    Take it firmly and slowly.
Also some case have been glued or some glue from the inverter is touching the side.

    Heat Shield:
This is VERY important. This removes the heat from the your components.
First thing not mentioned is the themal pad. This square paste pad will be sticky if the computer is still warm. in the video the guy sticks the heat shield on the tablet pad down, DO NOT DO THIS. Keep it pad up, make sure its still a square shape.
When you reapply the heat shield try to keep is square when you replace and do it up tight as you can.
I would also suggest taking a temparture reading of your tablet before you start this whole thing and compare to after in case you screwed this part up.
If you have your fan will come on alot quicker.
