Thread: Total tablet security

  1. Default Total tablet security

I am loopking for an ultimate laptop security software that protects me from virus' and internet threats (spyware, malware ect.) while at the same time, does not slow down my tablet as I am a student and write on it frequently.

And money is not an issue for me.

    Thanks!

    Default Nod32

    Hi unhip_crayon

I have been using NOD32 from ESET for years.

Except for the splash screen when it boots up, and the occasional message when it detects a virus in some spam email, it runs quietly and seems not to consume excessive resources.

I've used Kaspersky since 2003 with numerous installs of XP and Vista on tablets and also can attest to it's resource low demands. I recently bought a year license for KAV8 on eBay for $8.00.

NOD32 and Kaspersky come to my mind as reliable yet light in resource-using anti-virus programs.

Personally I use NOD32. Beware that the 3.0 version seems to have some compatibility issues and cause intensive CPU usage in certain situations... You may fall-back to 2.7 through... Besides ESET has a "suite" called Smart Security which has a firewall and an anti-spam module as well.

    High CPU usage issue: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...=207359&page=8

And one more thing, no anti-virus program out there can detect all virus/trojan out there... But some do detect more than the others.... : )

Only a handful of anti-virus products manage to basically draw zero resources unless scanning or processing actions and remain top-performers at the same time. The others can have huge performance impact on limited-resources hardware such as tablets. Chose carefully based on doing homework with research.
