    Default Display quality st5111

I recently bought the 5111 w indoor/otdoor screen. I use indoors. The display colors don't seem vibrant. It sort of looks faded. Things arent as sharp as I would have expected. I checked settings and maxomized. Is this to be expected? thanks

David: I'm not sure what to say, because I'm not sure what your expectations for display quality are. Most modern laptops and tablets have excellent screens and display quality, but of course, that's a relative thing. If you're trying to compare your ST5111 to, say, a high-quality desk top monitor, then there's a chance that you'll be disappointed. But if you are comparing it to another laptop or tablet, the ST5111 should be quite comparable. For what it's worth, I have owned two Fujitsu tablets, and both featured excellent screen quality and brightness.

However, You may have some kind of problem. I suggest that you contact Fujitsu tech support and discuss this with them; they may be able to suggest some simple adjustments or tests that may help to identify problems, such as not having the most appropriate display driver, etc.

    Good luck.

Thanks Steve, sharpness, contrast, all seem less than what I had on my fujitsu notebook. I thought maybe the digitizer had something to do w/ it. I'll call fujitu. again thanks.

David: OK, I agree that doesn't sound right. Assuming that you are looking at a screen of comparable resolution (your ST5111 has an XGA screen; is your laptop the same?), the image qualities should be similar. If the screens have different resolutions, that would be one difference right there...

the ST5111 has a front lit screen designed for outdoor use. the viewing angles are poor and the indoor viewing isn't good but it is designed for bright sun & outdoor conditions -there it is unbeatable

Thanks for the advice. Sound like I would have been better off w/ 5112 since I only use indoors. Anyone want to trade?
