    TedRx,
My google searches led me to your articles about tablet PC and art. I can't thank you enough for the time you put in to get the information out there. And to think I nearly spent $400 for a graphics tablet, when I ultimately spent half that much for a used M1400 that has nearly the same digitizer size and draw-on-screen experience.

I'm having a lot of fun optimizing my workflow for digital art. I used to draw on paper and scan. Now the ability to multiple-undo, layer, and panel has saved me so much time that I can finally focus more on art and storytelling.

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to future postings.

  3. Default hey there!

Im new here but i have seen that there is a ton of great information availiable to the pctable market hunters!

my question is: how can you tell if the pen on a certain model is pressure sensitive or not.

im looking at the TM2-1070CA hp touch smart. is it worth it? and how come i cannot find its pressure sensitivity listed anywhere?

and if this model stinks what would be a better option with newer machines?

    anyhelp here would be great!

    thanks in advance

    Rob!

i would stay away from anything that says "touch" ... you want a digitizer model that uses Wacom technology for doing artwork.

The tm2 is actually dual so it is both touch and active digitizer it shuts off the touch when it senses the stylus. It depends though on your view of that.
    TC1000 tc1100 tc4200 and now a tc4400

Some time ago I bought a tablet, using the info from tabletpcbuzz and want to share my experiences with cool resources and tips for all artists out there, that make drawing on a tablet with usual tools, like Photoshop - a fun thing!

First of all I tuned my tablet buttons, so they increase and decrease brush size in Photoshop. It's a really personal thing, but I made UP/DOWN mapped to "["/"]" and LEFT/RIGHT mapped to ALT/CTRL to make access to all modificators in Photoshop.

The other nice thing I did is tuned the workspace dedicated to painting, with only several panels visible. To avoid screen clutter.

Next I used the Auto hot key to switch from Photoshop full screen and back.

Photoshop color wheel and nice handless color picker - really helps when you don't have a keyboard available - and you don't! When you're in drawing mode.

I'm using standard Windows 7 ink recognizer for adding text to the image. Vista is bad with that - ink recognizer is very hard to deal with.

If you're fan of AlienSkin plugins (like I am), they have a nice extension panel that helps us, confused table pc users to use their software with ease.

The next thing is brushes. Deviant Art is full of cool brushes, you can download and install the ones depending on your art style.

And of course, the good source of inspiration is CG Society.

I hope this will help someone who started like me without any good resources on TabletPC painting. If you liked it, I will add more, as I discover something.
