Default No Pen after going to sleep on M400

If my let my machine go into Standby or Hibernate, the pen is no longer recognized when the machine wakes up.

Anyone else have that happen? Did you solve it?

I've reloaded drivers to no avail.

    Thanks,
    David

I have this problem too on my Tecra m7
I should note that im running vista, and the wacom drivers (need the sensitivity in photoshop, zbrush, ect

Vista works great except for this one HORRIBLE problem... after the machine sleeps/hiberntaes for more than an hour the pen driver drops out.

Ive tried all sorts of fixes listed online:
enable a password for system startup and resume (doesn't work)
use the drivers available on wacom's European site (doesn't work)
restart pen related processes via run command (doesn't work)
Hold the pen close to the screen during resume process (doesn't work)
Installed vista SP1 beta (dosen't work!)

sorry Im so fired up about this, but I just Vista sp1 beta has been floating around for a while now, aand the product descrption says:
"sp1 fix: drivers for some peripherals drop out after sleep or hibernation"
So I stay up the TWO hours it takes to install the service pack, restart and do some doodles. then set the machine to hibernate, and then go to sleep.
Wake up the this morning, set the machine to resume, and...
    and...
    and...
    nothing.
    the pen dosent work.

well Wacom says its windows that chooses to ignore the driver, and there is not much they can do about it.

All i can say is that Windows has really fumbled the ball with this one, and the tablet pc is the one thing they have going for them in the originality department...

Please someone help. Like most here the tablet pc has become my primary machine, i take it everywhere and it is almost an extension of myself...

Not sure whether this is not due to the Wacom drivers. I'm running XP on a Tecra M4 and I did install the latest Wacom drivers recently, after been using the native drivers since I bought the PC. I find the pen behaving much more erratically since the update and I also had the pen occasionally not working after coming from hibernation.

I haven't yet uninstalled the drivers, but I'm getting more up to it by the day.
Doesn't Toshiba offer their own drivers for Vista? I haven't checked, cause I'm really not interested in upgrading to Vista.

yeah, its probobly smart to avoid vista, but XP wouldn't resume from sleep with my 4 gigs o'ram

Well the 4GB are not used in full by Vista either, it's no different from XP in that respect. Vista won't use more than about 3.5 K, depending on the hardware you have, so you may just as well remove 1 GB and you won't notice much difference.

I'm thinking that there has to be something on my (our) machine that causes this, or others would be reporting it as well. I just wish I knew what!
