    Default Fan Noise on T2010???

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a Fujitsu T2010, but I've been reading about fan noise. Can anybody share their experiences (or lack of) with this problem?

    Thanks,

    Hi, Blair

I was fortunate enough to demo the Fujitsu T2010 for a video review we did. I did notice fan noise on the T2010, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other tablet pc's I've used. The T2010 is a fine tablet pc, and almost had me regretting the purchase of my 2710p.

I also had the device for around 3 days in my hands and I would say that when the unit is running a CPU demanding task you can hear the CPU changing to a higher speed. that makes a typical sound that I have heard in many of my notebooks but I would never consider it a noise.

The bottom line is that probably this is a personal issue. For Rob and me it's normal but I have read somebody complaining about the fan in a Samsung Q1, and God knows that a Q1 is a dead body!

Any update on the T2010 fan noise issue? I recently picked up a used one and the fan noise is noticeable. I'm wondering how cheaply the noise issue can be fixed. I would want it silent (i hate fans)

I've had my T2010 since 11/07, and in that time its been in more or less 24/7 use. The fan is pretty much always on, and yes its noise noticeable. At first I found it quite bothersome, but I've just grown used to it now. Up until recently I haven't had any problems with it. But now occasionally the fan makes some odd sounds, particularly if the laptop is positioned at an odd angle, but this is rare. Other then that I haven't had any problems with the laptop, the hinge that holds the screen is not that stiff but it's adequate. And the rubber top on my mouse has partly come off but thats due to me keeping my fingernails too long.

The fan on my used unit goes up and down in volume with whatever app I'm using. I don't see how this can be normal. It is worse than the HP tablets (hair dryers).
My local service shop said the fan can be replaced for cheap ~60CDN.
Anyways, I may fix it and get back with results or its going back on eBay.
