Custom resolution on a TC1100 with an external mon

Does anyone know how I can customize the external monitor resolutions with a TC1100? I want to use it with a monitor that has a native resolution of 1440x900, but that option is not available.

I tried doing a forum search, but the resulting topics just show #8220;script scr#8221; text strings rather than the actual topics, rather than the actual topics.

TIA for any help and advice.

You'll need to get an updated driver from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com

My notes from when I did this read as follow:

quote:Get V. 77.70 & Pieters modified mobile INF modified for 77.70

modify nvcv.inf :
Rotateflag = 0x40

Install from Device manager

use have disk method, specify modified ncvc.inf file

If these notes don't work for you, the forums over there are likely to have the information you need to get up and working.

Thanks for the advice. I#8217;ll give it a try. I#8217;ve attempted upgrading the video driver in the past, but it always seemed like something never worked quite as well as when the original driver is used. Hopefully, this one will work OK.

i upgraded to 91.47 about maybe a year ago.
i needed to tweak the inf-file for various problems (especially the hibernate related one), but after this i've been happily running the upgrade.
however, i don't remember if i've ever connected an external monitor since then, so there might still be problems.

Thanks again for the advice. I think for now, I will leave things as they are and just deal with less than perfect resolution on the external monitor. I do not need to monitor all the time, and I can live with slightly blurry text for the few occasions when I do need it. Oddly, my tiny Sony U71P handles this resolution with no problem at all.
